The entire population of Holland is excited about the fact that we're in the semi-finals of the world's largest soccer tournament, the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but this weekend another sports event took place over here that also shook our small and secure world: the start of the "Tour de France", a Walhalla for people who love to bike. And I do!
Hugo and I were invited to make caricatures for Heijmans, who had set up a place for their business relatives to watch the Tour go by. All in a french style, with french music and ofcourse french caricaturists: Hugo and moi!
Everybody is waiting in anticipation for the runners to arrive.
And here's the "tête de la course": three runners managed to escape and are now in lead: Perez, Boom and Wijnands.
Here they finally are: the main pack. They all passed in about 15 seconds.
He came all the way from Scotland to make pictures of his favourite runners.
Oh well, back to work then. Hugo is sweating in the back.
